Essential Educational Qualification
Staff Nurse (Male)
- The candidate must have passed High School Examination with Science and passed Intermediate Examination of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an Examination recognised by the Government as equivalent thereto.
- Possess diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or B.Sc Degree in Nursing registrable with the U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council or possess diploma in Psychiatry registrable with the U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council
- Possess registration certificate from U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council as Nurse and Psychiatry or Possess registration certificate as Nurse and Midwives from the U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council.
Staff Nurse (Female)
- The candidate must have passed High School Examination with Science and passed Intermediate Examination of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an Examination recognised by the Government as equivalent thereto.
- Possess diploma in General Nursing and midwifery or B.Sc Degree in Nursing registrable with the U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Possess registration certificate as Nurse and Midwife from the U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council.
Sister Grade-2 (Male/Female)
- Diploma in General Nursing and midwifery from a recognized institute or equivalent qualification for male Nurse.
- Preference to those having 3 years exp. in large hospital or Medical College or
- B.Sc.Nursing Should be a registered “A” Grade Nurse and Midwife with a State Nursing Council or equivalent Qualification for Male nurses.

To apply online for the posts, candidates should log on to http://uppsc.up.nic.in to access the home page of the “Candidate Segment”.
Online application will be completed in three stages :
First Stage: Candidate Registration
- On clicking ”Apply”, Candidate Registration will be displayed.
- After filling the Basic Registration form, the candidates must check all the informations filled by them.
- If any correction / modification is required, click on “Edit”button and ensure the required corrections / modifications.
- After being fully satisfied with all the informations filled, click on ‘Submit’ button to complete the first stage.
- Next ”Print Registration Slip” shall be displayed and Print of Registration Slip must be taken by clicking on Print Registration Slip.
Second Stage: Fee Deposit
- Click on ”Click here to proceed for payment”.
- Pay the fees on the SBI MOPS (Multi Option Payment System)
- After successful payment of fees, ”Payment Acknowledgement Receipt (PAR)” shall be displayed alongwith detail of fee deposition.
- Next click on ”Print Payment Receipt” to print the payment receipt..
Third stage:
- Click on ”Proceed for final submission of application form”
- The candidates are required to enter all the required informations in the format shown.
- The photo and signature, duly scanned should be uploaded in this stage.
- Please note that in case the photo and signature, scanned in the prescribed size, are not uploaded, then the On-line system will not accept it.
- Click “Submit” button to forward the same to the Commission.
- After clicking the ‘Submit’ button, the candidate may take a print of the application to preserve it for further reference.

Selection Process for UPPSC Staff Nurse Recruitment 2021
The U.P. Public Service Commission will conduct an Objective type Written Examination for the upcoming staff nurse vacancy 2021. The selection of government staff nurse vacancy 2021 will be made as per Merit prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination along with additional marks as per provision of Rule.
Selection shall carry one hundred marks. The merit list of the candidates shall be prepared in the following manner:-
- Maximum 85 marks in Written Examination:
- Maximum 15 marks for Staff Nurse already working on contract basis in the Medical and Health Services Department, Uttar Pradesh.
- 3 marks for the first completed year
- 3 marks for the next and every completed year of service on contract basis

- History of India and Indian National movement:- In History of India, emphasis should be on broad understanding of social, economic and political aspects of Indian history. In the Indian National movement, the candidates are expected to have synoptic view of the freedom movement, growth of nationalism and attainment of Independence.
- Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the
- World:- Questions on the Geography of India will relate to Physical, Social & Economic Geography of India. In World Geography only general understanding of the subject will be expected.
- Indian Polity and Governance, Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj & PublicPolicy, Rights – issues etc:- In Indian polity. and Governance questions will test knowledge of country’s constitution, political system including Panchayati Raj and Community Development.
- Indian Economy and Social Development:- The candidates will be tested with respect to problems and relationship between population, Environment, Urbanisations; broad features of economic policy in India and Indian Culture.
- Current Events of National and International Importance:- This will also include questions on Games & Sports.
