    UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria

    Minimum Educational Qualifications

    (a) Degree in Engineering or
    (b) Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
    (c) Degree/Diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution recognised by the Government, or
    (d) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
    (e) Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
    (f) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London

    Age Limit for UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2022

    • Minimum: 21 Years and Maximum: 30 Years as on 01-01-2022.
    • Age relaxation applicable as per norms.

    Nationality

    A candidate must be either:
    (a) a citizen of India, or
    (b) a subject of Nepal, or
    (c) a subject of Bhutan, or
    (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India,
    or
    (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

    How to apply

    • Candidates can apply online using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in.
    • Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above-mentioned website.
    • The applicants are advised to submit a single application; however, if due to any unavoidable situation if he/she submits another/multiple applications, the application with the higher RID will be considered.
    • Candidates will have to submit the attested copies of the following documents to the Commission soon after the declaration of the results of the Written Examination.
      • Certificate of Age.
      • Certificate of Educational Qualification.
      • Certificate in support of the claim to belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Section(EWS) wherever applicable.
      • Certificate in support of claim for age/ fee concession, wherever applicable.
    • After the declaration of the results, successful candidates will be intimated by the Commission and they will have to submit a Detailed Application Form (DAF) online and upload the scanned copies of the above mentioned certificates to the Commission at that time.

    • Fee can be paid online through Net Banking, Credit/Debit cards.
    • Online fee can be paid by the candidates through Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking Payment mode up to 12.10.2021 (18:00 hours).
      Applicants who opt for “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system generated Pay‐in slip during Part‐II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of the SBI Branch on the next working day.
      Pay by cash mode option last date: 11-10-2021 (11:59 PM ) i.e. one day before the closing date
    • Fee once paid shall not be refunded nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection.

    Scheme of UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2022

    The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:

    • Stage‐I: Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage‐I) Examination (Objective Type Papers) for the selection of candidates for the Stage‐II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage‐II) Examination;
    • Stage‐II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage‐II) Examination (Conventional Type Papers) and
    • Stage‐III: Personality Test
    • The Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage‐I) Examination will consist of two objective types (multiple choices) of questions papers and carrying a maximum of 500 marks (Paper 1 – 200 Marks & Paper II – 300 Marks).
    • Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary/Stage‐I Examination in the year will be eligible for admission to the Main/Stage‐II Examination of that year provided they are otherwise eligible for admission to the Main/Stage-II Examination.
    • The Marks obtained in the Preliminary/Stage‐I Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main/Stage‐II Examination will be counted for determining their final order of merit.
